What Every Florida Driver Should Know About Insurance

Florida Minimum Insurance Requirements

So often we hear clients state they have "full coverage" so they are protected. That is a misconception that people often have! Unfortunately, full coverage typically is referring to having comprehensive and collision in addition to the minimum Florida requirements.

Here is the truth, although comprehensive and collision do protect your vehicle to a certain extent, it does not cover you for any potential injuries and damages that you may sustain. Florida is the ONLY state to not require bodily injury coverage. What that means is that if someone has minimum state required insurance and causes an accident, they may only have $10,000 to cover property damage. Leaving you without a remedy to your damages. However, you can protect yourself! Underinsured/Uninsured Motorist coverage is an extra protection you can add to your policy to protect you for injuries should someone cause you damages without the necessary insurance coverages!
